Ugly Duckling Soap, LLC is a premium soap manufacturer. Our products use only the finest quality ingredients including food grade vegetable oils, essential oils, fragrance oils and organic botanicals. Our soaps are heavy and long lasting; a single bar will serve you for several weeks with daily use. Our soap is made using an organic hot process. 100% pure, natural, food-grade vegetable oils are slowly mixed with sodium hydroxide (lye). This mixture is then cooked over low heat until the saponification (the chemical reaction of sodium hydroxide and vegetable oil) process is complete, leaving pure soap and a glycerine by-product. Some soap manufaturers will remove this glycerine, as it is a very valuable product in the cosmetic industry (100% glycerine is actually more valuable than soap). We leave our glycerine in the soap, where it remains in suspension creating a naturally moisturizing soap. Our soaps are cooked to completion before they are poured into molds; Ugly Duckling Soaps have a rough surface with a smooth middle. Our soaps may not be beautiful, but they will be fantastic for your skin. The advantage of using a hot process is the ability to add all of our exotic oils (cocoa butter, avocado oil, castor oil, almond oil, etc) and other organic additives (ground oatmeal, honey, botanicals) after the saponification reaction is complete. This ensures that our exotic oils and organics are never exposed to lye, maintaining the purity of these ingredients.

Ugly Duckling Soap is a natural product. Because of this, each soap is unique, no two are exactly alike. Our soap is made in small (5 - 7 lb) batches to ensure quality. Our offerings vary from month to month depending on product availablity.

Our full size bars weigh 4-4.5 ounces and cost $5 each. Costs are inclusive of applicable sales taxes.
